MRI Tech Schooling

If you are thinking about a career as a technician, and cannot make up your mind what courses you should take, consider a career as a MRI technician. The schooling for an MRI tech cab be completed in as little as 2 years, and can last up to 4 years. You can finish your first bit of schooling in the first 2 years and go ahead get a job so that you can start earning money to make a living. After you start your job, you can continue to take extra classes, to earn more certifications. the advantage of these extra certifications is that they will allow you to be promoted, therefore increasing your yearly salary.

Many people are curious as to what an MRI technician makes on a yearly basis. With a two year degree you can expect to land a job making approximately $33,000 a year. If you choose to continue to take extra courses and gaining extra certificates, you can expect your yearly salary to increase to the low 40,000 a year, and will slowly increase each year after that.

The need for MRI technicians is at an all-time high, meaning that placement after your schooling is over should be quite easy. Many technical trade schools offer a placement program that will insure you a job as soon as you graduate. Stats for February 2009 showed that MRI tech jobs are definitely at an all-time high.
